Who are we?  Southern Cruisers is an International club with over 500 Chapters in 48 states and 7 foreign countries and a membership of more than 35,000. Here in North Carolina we have over 1300 members and 21 chapters. We are first and foremost a riding club dedicated to the safe enjoyment of our motorcycles and the support of the motorcycling community. This is a non-brand specific club, so whether you ride a Harley, a Suzuki, a Honda, a Yamaha, a Kawasaki, or a Vespa, you are welcome to ride with us.

Annual dues: $0.00

Attendance: Southern Cruisers expects members to participate at least every 90 days. We consider participation to be participating in chapter rides or events, attending the monthly meeting or coming to PT Grille on Friday nights. If you can’t make it for an extended period of time, just let us know.

Rules: Ride safe, don't do anything illegal, don't do anything to embarrass the club. (There are rules to  deal with safe group riding outlining hand signals, etc; for the safety of the group.)

How does the club support itself?   While there are sales of club patches, belt buckles, watches, and other items available through an independentonline store.  As a member, you are not required to buy a patch or anything else. How you support the club is up to you and how you feel about your club.
The club itself is a not for profit type club and all positions are voluntary. The club supports itself through the work and participation of it's membership.

As an organization, SCRC tries to be involved in as many charity fundraisers as possible. Some of the funds supported nationally are: St. Judes Hospital, Missing Children Foundation, and The Foundation for Children's Brain Tumor Research. We are always happy to participate in Toy Runs, or any other local events where we may be of help.

Port City Chapter #162:  The Port City chapter, organized in November, 2000, is located in Wilmington, NC, between the Atlantic and the great Cape Fear river. We want to extend an open invitation to all bikers, regardless of brand of bike to join us, help us grow, and enjoy our beautiful weather, scenery, and brotherhood here on the southeast coast. We ride every week with most rides averaging about 100 miles with breaks in between and usually a lunch stop. We also ride with other chapters of SCRC and sometimes with other clubs.

Ride & Other Meeting Times:  Port City Chapter has rides every Saturday at 10:00 A.M. and the first Sunday of the month at 2:00 P.M. in the summer and 1:00 P.M. in the winter. Our normal get together point is the BP station at 132 North and Murrayville Road, near Laney High and Northchase. On the 2nd Tuesday of each month we have an informal dinner meeting at 7:00 P.M. at the Carolina Barbecue just behind the BP Station at Murrayville
